the company

Franz Leitner founded his company in Bruneck in 1952 and, from the very first years, won the confidence of numerous important customers throughout South Tyrol. The company staff consisted of qualified and apprentice electricians. In 1970 Franz Leitner opened a shop selling domestic electrical goods, radios and TVs in the center of Bruneck and, in 1975, the company was divided into the Electro Leitner shop and Leitner Hubert SAS with son Hubert as director. Under his guidance, the company grew to the extent that, in 1985, construction of new offices was necessary.
Today almost 100 staff work on electrical installations, emergency systems, lighting technology and photovoltaic devices. With its strong presence in lighting technology, including internationally, Leitner decided in 1991 to expand by opening a lighting system centre in Bruneck, which in 2001 was combined with the current head office, itself recently restructured and in continual growth.
In the past few years the photovoltaic sector has also seen very strong growth and, since 1989, the Leitner group has been realising turnkey projects on a small, medium and large scale. At the end of 2007, the photovoltaic department became Leitner Solar SPA and the entry of Andreas Leitner in the group ensured the tradition of continuity in the family business. Today the company is reinforcing its leadership in the sector in order to consolidate itself as one of the top photovoltaic companies in Italy. The Leitner Group is more and more involved in the planning and realisation of innovative lighting systems using LED technology, as well as automated building systems designed to ensure comfort and energy savings.
